Boli trotted to the edge of the clearing, and then past it, weaving his way between trees. He travelled quickly, but not so fast as to lose the one who pursued him. Unsure of the stamina of the mare, he glanced back to see if she followed. He doubted she was slow, and she looked a fairly sizeable piece when it came to her own self-defense. Now, though, he would be her defense if she so chose to stay on his land. A charred soul might he be, but his herd would be his responsibility, and his pride. Though he sensed the once prestiegious Rakshana had lost control before his coming there, he sensed he could rebuild it to its former glory. He had no such wish as to fight other lords, or join in the younger, more light spirited brawls, no. He would only fight if the matter become quite more serious. He expected to gain a subtle power through leadership and keeping his herd growing, and together. Now if a stallion would impose upon his terra, though, he would surely drive him away if he did not show innocent enough intentions. He must be wary, he warned himself. He replied to the mare's comment over his whithers. "So it shall be, my lady." He used the title out of respect, but he also liked the possesiveness included. He would never force her to stay. Mares had their own gusty ways, and free will would be the only just process to treat such, he decided.

The only sign that she had heard was the flick of an ear in his direction. She granted him nothing more than that, but nothing less either. Her eyes were busy scanning what was in around her at the moment, until she continued moving, this time following no one. Even if she didn't feel like staying here, she would know at least a vague outline of the land. She often made it her duty simply to find weak points, even if she never told them to anyone or used them herself.

Boli trotted next to the mare now, falling back. He did not know the terra well himself, but he could learn quickly. He would not let this disadvantage show, if he could help it, for he was strong. He scanned the grass for tufts that look suitable for resting, so he could suggest the mare rest. He would prove he could watch over her, and he supposed she did look quite tired. His cool and calculating gaze was unused to the refinements of mares, but he assumed from her mannerism that this mare seemed tougher than most. He liked the iciness that was created between them, deriving them both from the same chilling element. He arched his neck and trotted a few more steps before halting. "Shall we rest here?" he inquired, prepared for either a forward response or a submittance for himself to make the decision. His threads brushed against her neck, and he hoped it provided her with a degree of comfort, or what he imagined might be a mirrored spark of passion. The excitement, though serious and almost cold, of having a femme on the terra affected him like a blaze to wood.

She had been about to flat out refuse, and it certainly showed for a moment in her eyes, a defiance, refusing to stop because she had not been the one to suggest it. But at the slight touch she quivered inwardly, trying not to show it. It confused her how her mind took hold of it's own decisions in that moment. Her feelings had never taken hold, or, at least, not that one. The one she'd never quite felt before, the one she didn't know the name for.
I suppose. The land will always be here, after all.
She still managed to keep a bit of a rough tone about her, despite her inner turmoil. Determined not to let it show through, she closed her eyes and lowered her nose down to grab a bite of grass first, mainly to get a hold of herself, the grip seeming to have loosened for now, against her will.

Boli was eager to start his new harem, and eager to go in search of new mares, but even more he wanted to make sure this femme was comfortable in her new home, so she would stay. He did not want her to leave, and he preferred not having to use force to keep her.
Despite his coldness, he still thought he'd make a fair and just leader, for he did care about other creatures, and he could make decisions. He also had the might to back up his word. His decision would be word.
He snatched some grass between his kissers and then looked for some of the prime bites in the ground. The best he saw he pointed to with his maw, to show the femme he wanted her to take it. His countenance was sly, for he heard her words, and realized she was soft, and delicate, more than the iron will she had first appeared. He smiled knowingly, and let his guard down ever so much to show he really did care for the fate of her.
He wondered if she would talk about herself, but both parties seemed tight lipped in this case. He supposed he would wait, or be the first to speak. His words were not always of eloquence, but they were deep and meaningful. He let the breeze blow his tassels about as he considered what he would state.
His bay peltage shimmered with life, and his orbs shown with great impenetrability. He still had much to learn about the land and it's near residents, and how he could best defend it. None of this was of immediate consequence, though, for he now would speak to the mare.
"You may call me Boli, if you wish," he said, his face smiling, but his occuli serious and as steely as ever. His words, though simple, sang like the ocean as his gaze revered the beautiful mare at his fore.

The comment seemed random, unexpected. But, really, it almost made sense to be spoken at that point. And, either way, she liked un expected. It kept life interesting, kept the wheel going round. Without anything that interested her, she would soon move on. Her mind needed to always have something to think about, whether it be scheming and plotting, or simply debating within herself where she truly stood. This stallion, Boli. Maybe he wouldn't be so bad after all. And then there was that twinge that still confused her. And, until she figured it out, she knew she would be unable to leave. She could try, certainly, but she would be drawn back in by an invisible thread.
Some have called me Lith.
She commented herself, after swallowing of course. She may be twisted, but she was not impolite. There was a distinct difference. Impolite equines were simply a nuisance, no threat was involved when interacting with them. Either way, she waited a moment before continuing what she'd started saying, if only because she felt like it.
Of course, I killed them for it.
It shouldn't matter. A name was just to avoid calling you Mare Number One, or something along those lines. But the thought of the nickname Lith just irked her. Everyone had there odd dislikes, that may seem pointless. It made you who you were, and, without this loathing of the nickname, Lithium would simply not be Lithium.
