The ocean of grass swayed lazily in the summer breeze, dancing to the rhythm of nature. Exotic birds chattered in the treetops, conversing amongst themselves about goodness knows what. The faint light which filtered through the canopy of thick, waxy leaves really set the mood for a gorgeous summers' day like this. A stream which trickled down through the mountains was gurgling softly in a comforting manner. A fox was lowering its' head to drink the crystaline liquid - and was shortly followed by four cubs. They came sprinting down the hill playfighting and one of them tumbled into the stream. The mother seemed to grin, then once they had all had their fill of water they wandered off again; presumably to their den.
Life. Such a wonderous thing; so complex yet in other respects so simple. Faith, strength, hope - these are but three things that you need to do well in your journeys through life. But what is "life"? Is it the emotions you feel, or the things that you see? Nobody really knows for sure, but one thing is for certain; the rule of life. Haven't you heard of it? No? Well, I shall tell you - it's quite simple really. Live, laugh love. The vital ingredients for a happy life - if you don't do one of these three things then you almost certainly wont be able to live your life to the full. And for the creatures in this wonderous place it is easier to fulfill those rules, as their minds are not corrupt like those of humans. They can live in peace beside eachother, or so it would seem ....
Soft footfalls could faintly be heard above the trickling stream. They got closer and louder, and soon enough the source of the noise was clear; a black mustang mare. Her features were kind and understanding, but she seemed to be hiding something - but whatever it was she certainly didn't seem bothered about it now. She reared up, lashing out with her daggers and a joyful whinny passed through her velvety lips. Her powerful limbs covered the ground swiftly as she broke into a canter. The three beat cadence was soothing as she rocked across the loamy soil, her banner flagging out behind her.
Sliding to a halt, the feminine figure started to graze, her tail flicking from side to side. Her ivories snapped up the fresh blades of grass and she savoured the sweet flavour before swallowing them down. Faerie - that was her name - describing a creature so beautiful yet dangerous at the same time. Well, at the moment she didn't seem to dangerous; actually, she was very serene, but that normally wasn't the case. Her warm, steady breaths mingled with the crisp zephyr. Faerie had been on her own for so long now, and longed for some form of contact with other equines.
